He was keen to try his hand at reverse engineering and implementing an <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.multimedia.cx\/index.php?title=Category:Undiscovered_Codecs\">undiscovered codec<\/a>. Most people start simple, but Ronald went for a <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.multimedia.cx\/index.php?title=Category:Vocoders\">vocoder<\/a> (significantly more complex than the piddly little ADPCM codecs I started with). He has completed his reverse engineering of the <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.multimedia.cx\/index.php?title=Windows_Media_Audio_Voice\">Windows Media Audio 9 Voice<\/a> algorithm and <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ffmpegsvn\/status\/9010281328\">committed a decoder<\/a> for <a href=\"http:\/\/ffmpeg.org\/\">FFmpeg<\/a>.
